Mmmm, Both have their good points, and their not so good points, I'm never sure which is best.
It must be very handy to have a nice regular ferry like the one in New York, the Staten Island Ferry. The people of New York, use it regularly, as it's a shorter trip than taking the subway or the bus, and the view is far more spectacular.
For me I prefer the long ovenight ferry trips, not only can you relax with a drink in the evening, a short time after you have breakfasted, the ferry graciously sails?? into a brand new port [and perhaps country] for you to explore.

Mine is definitely the Catamaran - so graceful. What's yours?

- The Roll on Roll Off Ferry? (Ro Ro)
- Catamaran
- Docking Ferry
- Hydrofoil
- Cable ferry (pretty rare!)

You may have been aware that the ferry industry has an initiative a couple of months ago called 'Ferry Fortnight'. During this period, the major operators each offered special deals in order to atract people onto their boats. There were some pretty special deals going around, hopefully you managed to get something.

Anyway, we were wondering what the best ferry deal; that youve ever managed to get? - Let us know here!
